Celebrating My Curves

Well I can check another item off my bucket list (or life list for my super optimistic friends).

✔  Boudoir Shoot

This is one of those things that I had on my list but I wasn’t too sure if it would ever happen. I just didn’t think I would have the self-confidence to do it. Over the past 5-6 years I’ve changed a lot. I’ve come a long way. I might not be at the perfect weight in my mind or have hit my 100 lbs lost but it was time for me to take a minute to celebrate. When I look at this before and after I almost don’t recognize myself.

Here are a few photos of me over the years. It makes me so mad when you read or hear people say that obese people just need to eat less. I literally want to slap them. Those kind of comments are discouraging, rude and made my self-esteem plummet even if they would say “Oh Tammy, I don’t mean you. You’re not obese”. These people are ignorant and don’t have a clue. Everyone is different and has different struggles. Some are physical like undiagnosed thyroid issues. Some love their more voluptuous bodies and there is nothing wrong with that. Some are also emotional. So before opening your mouth maybe you should look at yourself. Sorry about that… that topic kind of got away from me there. We can end that rant now.

This photo shoot was done for my husband as a gift for our 10 year wedding anniversary but getting them done totally made me feel empowered. I feel like I’ve owned my body and am proud. Here are a few of the photos from my shoot (husband approved of course).

It doesn’t matter your size I would totally recommend getting something like this done. Celebrate your body and your curves. You only get one body, might as well learn to love it the best you can.

I need to send a big thank you to my photographer Cherie-Lynn and Lindsey the assistant. Please go check out her beautiful work here. Boudoir isn’t something she usually does but I couldn’t have ask for a better photographer. It was easier for me to feel encouraged and empowered with the positive comments from these two friends.
Hope this gives you a little encouragement.
~Tammy
